Careers

At Te Kura, ākonga/students are provided with opportunities and options to develop the skills, capabilities and competencies to manage their future pathways.

You will work closely with your kaimanaaki/learning advisor to explore career options that interest you.

At Te Kura we encourage all our ākonga/students to participate in Leaving to Learn opportunities in the community, this can include STAR, Gateway, Tertiary Link, Trades Academy, Pathways Education, Career Exploration, Informational Interviews, Job Shadowing, Internships, and Volunteer work.

All these opportunities can help you learn more about the potential careers, relevant employment or training that is available.

Te Kura offers its ākonga/students guidance through an online platform called My Korowai which helps you with learning, goal setting, interests and passions, and career planning. Within this platform is a link to ‘Careers Central’ – a New Zealand organisation which helps with career exploration and provides lots of useful information.

If you would like to talk further about your career and study options, please call your kaimanaaki/learning advisor on 0800 65 99 88.
