Te Kura Summer School registrations

Te Kura accepts short-term registrations over the summer break. Te Kura Summer School is a learning programme available for eligible ākonga (students) who require up to 12 NCEA credits to progress to further study, training, or employment.

Te Kura Summer School runs from 17 December 2024 to 9 February 2025. Please note that after the 15 of January, ākonga may only work towards 6 credits at a time. The final day for Summer School Submissions is the 9^th of February, 2025.

Eligibility

Summer School ākonga must be:

• A New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or verified domestic student
• Residing in New Zealand or currently enrolled with Te Kura as an Overseas student
• Registering to complete a NCEA Certificate, University Entrance, or Endorsement requiring up to:
• 12 credits (if registering before 15 January 2025)
• 6 credits (if registering from 15 January 2025)

Current Full-time or Young Adult Te Kura ākonga - Register here

• Currently enrolled as a Full-time or Young Adult Te Kura ākonga (not a dual enrolment with Te Kura and another school)
• Not turning 20 in 2025
• In Years 11-13
• Note that My Te Kura is available throughout the summer break. Summer School is mainly for ākonga requiring up to 12 NCEA credits to progress to further study, training, or employment.

Dual ākonga - Register here

• Enrolled in another school in 2024 and returning to school in 2025 (you may also have had a dual enrolment with both Te Kura and your school in 2024)
• In Year 11 or 12 in 2024
• Aiming to complete an NCEA qualification with Te Kura Summer School before returning to your school in 2025
• Registration is free for most ākonga

Young Adult ākonga - Register here

• Not currently enrolled with Te Kura
• Not intending to enrol in a secondary school in 2025
• Aged 16-19 (not turning 20 in 2025)
• Aiming to pick up a few credits for further study, training, or employment
• Registration is free for most ākonga

Adult ākonga

Ādult ākonga must first submit an application to enrol with Te Kura for 2025. Once your application has been approved, you will be directed to register for Summer School. There is an Administration Tuition Fee if you are a new ākonga (we suggest paying by credit card to speed up your application).

Ākonga who are currently enrolled with Te Kura in 2024 may not need to pay for Summer School – please check with our intake team before making a payment. Phone 0800 65 99 88 option 5, or email: summerschool@tekura.school.nz
