Use the Log In dropdown menu on the top right-hand corner of our website.
How do school coordinators log in to My Te Kura?
Your username is your school’s Ministry of Education identification number (e.g. '1234' or 'AE123'). If you’ve logged into My Te Kura before, you should use your existing password.
If not, use the default password '12345678' the first time you log in, then create your own unique password. Please contact Student and Whānau Support at hub@tekura.school.nz or phone 0800 65 99 88 (option 2), during office hours if they have difficulties logging in.
What do school coordinators have access to in My Te Kura?
Your My Te Kura login provides full access to all course materials. It also provides access to the Dual Provider Help and Information course.
You can access information about ākonga (student) use of My Te Kura via the ākonga Progress function.
Ākonga only have access to the courses that they are registered for, as well as the Hub course, which has useful tips and information for ākonga.
To access the Dual Provider Help and Information course, click on the ‘Course Search’ icon (nine small squares) and type in the course name.
What do I do if I’m having issues with My Te Kura?
The Dual Provider Help and Information and The Hub courses in My Te Kura have useful tips and information. For navigation and functionality queries, first go to the homepage in My Te Kura to view the ‘How To’ information guide and videos.

How do ākonga access My Te Kura?
Ākonga (students) will receive their login information by email when their enrolment is confirmed.
Their username and initial password will be their Te Kura student ID number, which will be included in the email with their login instructions. Ākonga are required to set a unique password when they first log in. Ākonga who have already set a My Te Kura password can continue to use that password in the following year.
My ākonga hasn’t received their login instructions – what can we do?
If your ākonga (student) has their enrolment approved and they are listed on your Te Kura Enrolment System (TES) registered ākonga screen, but they haven’t received an email with My Te Kura login instructions, you can log in to TES to find their Te Kura student ID number.
Their unique student ID number is used as their username and initial password to access My Te Kura. Ākonga will be required to set a unique password when they first log in.
School coordinators and ākonga can contact Student and Whānau Support at hub@tekura.school.nz or phone 0800 65 99 88 option 2, during office hours if they have difficulties logging in.
What if an ākonga or a school coordinator forgets their password?
The ‘Forgot Password’ button on the My Te Kura login page can be used to reset the password. An email will be sent to the address that was provided at the time of enrolment with a password reset link. The link is valid for 14 days.
If the email doesn’t arrive, please call Student and Whanau Support on 0800 65 99 88 option 2.
Do fee-paying/international ākonga who attend face-to-face school in New Zealand need to access their NCEA Level 2 and 3 course materials online?
Fee-paying/international dual ākonga (students) attending school in New Zealand will have access to the same Te Kura services as government-funded dual ākonga. These ākonga will be sent instructions to log into My Te Kura to access course materials and will have the same options for returning work as government-funded dual ākonga.
